Blue Bloods: Teen Vampire TV Show in the Works at Awesomeness

As a huge fan of the Blue Bloods series, I am absolutely thrilled to hear that Awesomeness is bringing this captivating world to life through a television adaptation. The idea of an elite group of vampires who were once part of Lucifer’s angel army, now cursed to survive on human blood, has always fascinated me. And with Melissa de la Cruz’s bestselling novels as the foundation, I have no doubt that this series will deliver a rich and intriguing storyline.

I’m thrilled as a fan to share that Blue Bloods, the popular coming-of-age supernatural fantasy novel series by Melissa de la Cruz, is being brought to life as a TV show by Awesomeness! Emmy-nominated Jacquie Walters (Wreckage, Big Shot) is spearheading this project as writer and executive producer.

“I’m excited to collaborate with Melissa and the teams at Gotham and Awesomeness to breathe life into Blue Bloods,” Walters expressed in a statement. “Working on a project with such an devoted fanbase is a delight, and we’ve had a great time adapting this story for modern times. The combination of Gotham’s enthusiasm and Awesomeness’ creative vision makes an ideal partnership to bring this tale to life on screen.”

What is Blue Bloods about?

Since its initial release in 2006, Blue Bloods has captivated audiences with its story of a select band of vampires. These beings were previously members of Lucifer’s celestial forces. However, they turned against him and consequently fell from grace, now condemned to live by feeding on human blood. The first book ignited a series of eight subsequent installments. The ninth and concluding volume, named Gates of Paradies, was made available in 2013.

In the fictional world of Blue Bloods, New York City is covertly governed by a powerful group of immortal vampires. However, their tranquility is disrupted when one of their own goes missing, revealing the presence of an ancient and wicked breed of vampires. Amidst this turmoil, 17-year-old Sky, who is half human and half vampire, navigates her way through the Duchesne Institute – a prestigious institution for vampires. Having been banished from the Blue Bloods earlier, Sky now strives to belong and discover her role in this community. As she progresses, she starts unraveling a sinister force that jeopardizes not only the Coven but also the existence of all vampire kind. The enigma remains: will Sky be the savior or the harbinger of doom for the vampire society?

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that I’ll be part of a team executive producing this upcoming project. De La Cruz, Richard Abate, Katie Newman Krandel, and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein are leading the way. Currently, we don’t have a network or streaming platform on board yet, but we’re working hard to make it happen!
