The buzz surrounding the ongoing court case between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has grown louder following news about a fresh demand from Lively’s lawyers. This high-profile lawsuit involving actress and director of It Ends with Us, Justin Baldoni, remains a hot topic in media circles. As the legal tussle shows no signs of abating, financial matters have now taken center stage in the courtroom proceedings.
Blake Lively’s legal team reportedly requests Justin Baldoni’s financial records
Blake Lively’s attorneys have formally requested access to Justin Baldoni’s full financial records.
This news, reported by TMZ, arises while they are responding to Baldoni’s $400 million defamation lawsuit. In this legal action, Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and Leslie Sloane (her longtime publicist) are named as defendants. The financial documents at the center of the dispute allegedly link directly to the losses that Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, claim to have experienced.
In simpler terms, Lively’s lawyers have asked a judge to consider their case. They claim that Baldoni’s team only shared non-confidential documents about the damages discussed earlier. They believe Baldoni should make all of his financial records available to support the large amount of money he is requesting.
In a recent twist in the Justin Baldoni lawsuit, Baldoni’s legal team took an unexpected step: they issued a subpoena for Taylor Swift. They argue that Swift had an indirect influence on production talks due to her friendship with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. It is said that Swift permitted her song “My Tears Ricochet” to feature in the movie “It Ends With Us”. However, it was previously reported that Swift held no official position in the film’s production. Additionally, it’s been claimed that Swift didn’t watch the movie before its premiere.
Us Weekly reports that while Taylor has always been Blake’s friend, Taylor hasn’t played any role in the case. To clarify, Taylor didn’t contribute to the movie production. She wasn’t the film’s producer and held no creative control over it.
In December 2024, a dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni arose, stemming from a legal battle. Lively initiated the lawsuit, charging Baldoni with sexual harassment and fostering a hostile work environment during the filming of It Ends with Us. She also accused him of emotional abuse throughout production. In response, Baldoni refuted these claims and retaliated in January 2025 by filing a countersuit for defamation. He argued that Lively was attempting to tarnish his reputation and harm his business. The highly anticipated trial is set to take place on March 9, 2026.
