Blake Lively Blasts ‘Feminist’ Justin Baldoni Over Ryan Reynolds Complaint

Today, there’s a fresh update in the continuous courtroom skirmishes between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. Blake Lively has filed a new document, pointing out an earlier revised complaint submitted by Baldoni.

On Friday, Lively’s legal team responded affirmatively to a motion she filed earlier this month aimed at dismissing a revised claim made by Baldoni. This updated complaint suggested that Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, collaborated in an attempt to amplify insignificant interactions and perpetuate a misleading account claiming that Lively was subjected to sexual harassment.

As a gamer, I’d rephrase it like this: In response through Deadline, my legal team labeled Baldoni’s claim as essentially empty. The motion points out that Baldoni couldn’t pinpoint any specific statements from me or Reynolds that were actionable. Furthermore, they took issue with Baldoni calling himself a feminist and simultaneously accusing me of manipulating my husband into doing anything.

The filing states that they couldn’t find any statements from Ms. Lively that could be held accountable for. However, it seems they are suggesting she is responsible for her husband’s alleged comments. It’s surprising that Baldoni, who identifies as a ‘feminist,’ would argue this way in 2025 when wives are not typically held liable for their husbands’ spoken words.

The entire situation originated from a formal complaint lodged by Lively against Baldoni in December. In this complaint, she alleged that the working conditions on the set of “It Ends With Us” became increasingly unbearable to the point where an urgent meeting was convened to address her accusations of a toxic work environment. During this meeting, Lively requested Baldoni to cease sharing explicit videos or images of women with her, to refrain from discussing his pornography addiction in her presence, to avoid discussing sexual experiences in front of her, and also to desist from making comments about her weight.

The complaint alleges that Wayfarer Studios and the cast agreed to emphasize Lively’s character’s strength and resilience rather than portraying the movie as a depiction of domestic violence during promotion. However, Lively asserts that Baldoni went back on this agreement and instead highlighted the film’s serious theme in his interviews.

According to Lively’s statement, it was alleged that Baldoni and his public relations manager, Melissa Nathan, brainstormed strategies for a social media smear campaign aimed at damaging Lively’s reputation. The filing by Lively contains approximately 22 pages of text exchanges between Baldoni’s representative and Nathan, where they express a desire to “bury” Lively.
