As a seasoned gamer who’s seen the rise and fall of many gaming franchises over the years, I must say, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 has truly outdone itself with this latest release. The sheer scale of its success is nothing short of phenomenal, breaking records left and right! It’s like watching a phoenix rise from the ashes – or maybe it’s more like a T-Rex stomping through a toy store – either way, it’s impressive!
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but feel elated! The triumphs of Satya Nadella, our esteemed CEO at Microsoft, are indeed noteworthy. With the record-breaking launch of Call of Duty Black Ops 6, setting new milestones in Call of Duty history, and significantly boosting Game Pass, his leadership continues to shine!
The big comeback?
In a celebratory mood, Activision reports that Call of Duty Black Ops 6 has claimed the top spot among all games in the series during its debut weekend.
Appreciation to the remarkable #CallOfDuty community for making the debut of #BlackOps6 an unforgettable event, establishing new single-day and opening weekend sales records.

In a recent conference call discussing quarterly earnings, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella declared that the launch had been extremely successful, despite the fact that the initial season of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hasn’t been released yet.
Last week’s launch of Black Ops 6 was the biggest Call of Duty release ever, setting a record for day one players, as well as Game Pass subscriber adds on launch day. And unit sales on PlayStation and Steam were also up over 60% year-over-year. This speaks to our strategy of meeting gamers where they are by enabling them to play more games across the screens they spend their time on.
As a result, this fiscal quarter was also a huge success for Game Pass.
We set new records for monthly active users in the quarter, as more players than ever play our games across devices and on the Xbox platform. Game Pass also set a new Q1 record for total revenue and average revenue per subscriber.
Looks like the Activision/Blizzard purchase is paying off for Microsoft.
