As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent in the Call of Duty universe, I’ve seen my fair share of glitches and bugs, but the current issue with grenades in Black Ops 6 is truly baffling. It’s like playing a game of cosmic darts, where the dartboard is constantly shifting positions!
Few things feel as gratifying as landing a kill in Black Ops 6 by hurling a grenade from one end of the map. The newest iteration of Call of Duty from Treyarch boasts an array of deadly gadgets that augment damage, along with a vast selection of firearms. However, players are currently struggling to accurately aim their destructive devices.
As Season 1 progresses and the developer works diligently to combat an overwhelming number of hackers in Ranked Play, another problem has surfaced for players joining casual playlists. Instead of grenades traveling along a predictable path, a bug is causing them to alter course during flight, leaving those who toss them perplexed by this unexpected behavior.
Black Ops 6 grenades aren’t behaving
On the Scud map, there’s a partially damaged satellite dish that offers a fantastic view of the entire battlefield. This dish has a central opening which serves as an ideal spot for snipers to engage in long-range shootouts. However, this same opening could expose them to incoming explosives.
Usually, a frag grenade in Black Ops 6 travels in a straight line towards its target when thrown at the right angle. However, there’s a bug that causes the grenade to behave strangely, veering off course and landing inside the satellite dish, which results in players losing their advantage over the enemy.

According to this theory, the movement of grenades on the Scud map appears to be influenced by a smaller rotating radar dish. This dish has an invisible zone where collisions occur, affecting the path of the grenade. The unique behavior of grenades on the Scud map could indicate that they are behaving unpredictably, which is exciting if you’re looking for more precise grenade landings on other multiplayer maps.
Another Black Ops 6 issue
In simpler terms, the early days of Black Ops 6’s first post-release season have been quite turbulent. The highly anticipated introduction of Ranked Play was marred by an overwhelming number of cheaters who joined matches with the intention of spoiling the experience for fair players eager to engage in competitive gameplay.
Ever since Season 1 debuted, Treyarch has been consistently rolling out smaller updates aimed at fixing player-related issues. Recently, there’s been an issue with grenades in Scud going astray. This just adds to a list that seems to be never-ending. However, the developer is known for promptly resolving significant problems with their games, so don’t be surprised if your grenades start behaving correctly soon enough.
While you wait, take a look at when the next double XP weekend is expected to take place.
