The film documentary titled “Bioscope” delves into the creation process of Sankagiri Rajkumar’s first movie, “Vengayam,” which challenged age-old beliefs. This movie is based on a profoundly affecting personal experience that significantly influenced its director. In Salem, the narrative revolves around Rajkumar and his agricultural family. A seer prophesied an unfortunate future for Rajkumar’s brother, causing him to spiral into despair and take his own life. Devastated by this loss, Rajkumar finds motivation in his grief and resolves to bring “Vengayam” to life.
The movie initially explores the craft of filmmaking, but eventually delves into societal observations. Despite being turned down by producers, Rajkumar resorts to his community and meager assets to finance his aspirations. A blend of purposeful comedy gives the narrative a moving and engaging quality.
