Recently, Billie Eilish took part in a chat with influencer Quenlin Blackwell as part of Complex’s GOAT Talk series. They delved into their preferred fictional characters, songs that resonate deeply, gifts they’ve received, and other interesting topics. In this interview, the artist behind ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ revealed that Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Venom is her favorite fictional character crush.
Billie Eilish says Venom is her favorite fictional character crush
Billie Eilish and Quenlin Blackwell shared their top picks for fictional character crushes during a conversation on Complex’s GOAT talk. Interestingly, they only considered animated characters in this discussion. However, it was revealed that Billie Eilish had a soft spot for Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Venom among her favorite fictional character crushes.
Blackwell was taken aback, letting out an audible sigh, to which Eilish playfully remarked, “Oh, that’s definitely just wishful thinking.” In response, Blackwell made a soft growling sound as a joke, while Eilish subtly expressed her affection with a dreamy gesture, much like someone smitten.
Eilish clarified that Venom wasn’t a living entity, but rather brought to life through Visual Effects (VFX).
Among the fictional characters Eilish mentioned as her crushes are Jack Skellington from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” (1993), BoJack Horseman from the Netflix series bearing his name, Holli Would from Cool World by Ralph Bakshi, Jessica Rabbit from “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”, and Scar from “The Lion King”.
In the Complex GOAT conversation, Eilish mentioned other things she enjoys as well. For the song by a GOAT that became her life’s anthem, the artist behind Happier Than Ever, Billie Eilish, specifically pointed out some early tunes from Lady Gaga, particularly Poker Face, Alejandro, and G.U.Y.
Furthermore, Eilish mentioned that her initial vehicle, a sleek matte black Dodge Challenger, was the most outstanding present she had ever received. The automobile was bestowed upon her by her recording company.
Beyond this, she identified Sufjan Stevens’ Carrie & Lowell as her all-time weeping album. In particular, she singled out the track “Fourth of July,” noting it as incredibly heartrending and distressingly poignant. Billie Eilish also underscored the song’s beauty and its hauntingly dark nature.
