Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has shifted the release date for its adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ “The Cat in the Hat” forward by a week. Originally scheduled for March 6, 2026, the animated film starring Bill Hader as the Cat will now debut on the big screen a week earlier.
The Cat in the Hat moves release date up to February 2026
As an excited fan, I’m thrilled to share that contrary to earlier announcements, the animated adaptation of “The Cat in the Hat” from Warner Bros. will now debut on February 27, 2026, instead of a week later. It was back in March 2024 when Hader graciously joined the cast for this project. Moreover, he’s not just acting; he’s also serving as an executive producer for the movie.
The project was developed when Warner Animation Group obtained the rights to The Cat in the Hat, which they secured through a creative agreement with Seuss Enterprises. At first, Erica Rivinoja and Art Hernandez were involved as directors for this project, but later on, Hernandez left the project, and Alessandro Carloni stepped in as his replacement. Both Carloni and Rivinoja ended up writing the script together.
Additionally, joining Hader are Quinta Brunson, Bowen Yang, Xochitl Gomez, and Matt Berry in the voice talent lineup.
Or simply:

Another option:
Apart from Hader, the cast features Quinta Brunson, Bowen Yang, Xochitl Gomez, and Matt Berry.
And one more:
Hader is joined by Quinta Brunson, Bowen Yang, Xochitl Gomez, and Matt Berry as part of the voice talent roster.
In this feature, ‘The Cat’ faces his most challenging mission yet – lifting the spirits of two siblings as they navigate the challenges of settling into a new town.
1957 saw the debut of Dr. Seuss’ initial book, which has since been transformed in various ways. In 2003, Universal Pictures produced a live-action adaptation, featuring Mike Myers as the lead character. However, this movie was met with largely unfavorable reviews from critics and had a modest showing at the box office. Moreover, Dr. Seuss’ wife expressed her disapproval of the film and vowed that she would never again allow Hollywood to bring Dr. Seuss’ characters into live action on the big screen. As a devoted fan, I was thrilled when Warner Bros. Pictures Animation announced their collaboration with Dr. Seuss to create an adaptation of The Cat in the Hat. I can hardly wait for this exciting journey into the enchanting world of The Cat in the Hat, which will captivate both children and adults alike! (via my personal perspective)
Now, it is slated to come out on February 27, 2026.
