In the absence of their in-game leader Victoria “tory” Kazieva, the world’s top female team faced challenges finding their footing under the temporary leadership of coach Kamen “bubble”. This was evident as they were outplayed by the German squad, masterfully led by Johannes “tabseN”.
Tactical Veto and Dominance on Inferno
Big decided to take a daring move in the veto by keeping their typical ban on Inferno, which meant that Mirage – Imperial fe‘s strongest map was out of play. This risky strategy proved to be highly effective, as Imperial fe’s attempt to retaliate by picking Inferno ended up backfiring significantly.
Regardless of their initial success in the pistol round and subsequent follow-up, Imperial quickly disintegrated as BIG’s robust defensive strategy remained impenetrable, effectively reversing the game’s momentum. In a span of ten rounds, the tide had turned drastically, leaving Imperial scrambling for effective countermeasures. It was only Alexandra “twenty3” Timonina who managed to contribute substantially on her team, outscoring the rest of her squad in kills combined.

In the early stages of the match, Marcel “hyped” Köhn, BIG’s young AWPer, delivered a pivotal moment by clutching a 1v3 situation with an SSG in round three. This quick succession of events served as a game-changer, propelling BIG forward without much hindrance. From that point onwards, they experienced only minor setbacks, losing just two more rounds, before they triumphantly concluded Inferno with a 13-4 victory, demonstrating their dominance throughout the match.
Ancient Seals the Deal
In the realm of Ancient, chosen by BIG, the Germans relentlessly pressed forward, exploiting an overwhelmed opponent in a crucial midfield position. With swift offenses and strategic utilization, BIG claimed yet another 10-2 lead in the first half, leaving Imperial fe with minimal chances for a turnaround.

In the early stages of the second half, there was a short-lived opposition, but it failed to alter the course of events. BIG quickly wrapped up the map with a decisive 13-5 score, ensuring their participation in today’s crucial encounter against HEROIC.
Another Elimination Game Coming Up
Today at 16:00 CET, the team from Berlin faces an enormous task as they go up against Heroic. This crucial match is a significant step for them in their tournament run at Katowice. They’ve shown great promise, having defeated Liquid but losing to Eternal Fire. Whether the newly restructured squad can meet the challenge and perform optimally is something we’ll discover soon.
These women were the pioneers, making history by competing in the first Counter-Strike team for women at an IEM Katowice and ESL Pro Tour Championship event. Kudos to ZainabTurkie, ANa_CSGO, twenty3cs, Kat_csgo, bubbleCS22, and torycs2!

In this tournament, even though they didn’t win a game, it was still a groundbreaking moment for them. They were the first all-female team to participate in an S-Tier CS2 LAN event, which signified significant strides towards gender inclusivity within the competitive sphere. Although they faced tough competition, their global ranking should lead to future invitations to events of this level, enabling them to grow and compete on a grand scale.
Now, everyone is eagerly anticipating the forthcoming matchup between BIG and HEROIC at Katowice. Will they secure another victory and advance further in the tournament?
