His impressive resume, spanning across high-profile productions like Mario + Rabbids, Star Wars Outlaws, and the Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition at Ubisoft, certainly gives me confidence in his abilities.
Following the unfortunate demise of former director Emile Morel last year, a new creative leader has been appointed for Beyond Good and Evil 2: three-year industry veteran Fawzi Mesmar. From now on, he will be responsible for guiding the game’s creative direction.
On his LinkedIn page, Fawzi Mesmar announced his new position as Creative Director for Beyond Good and Evil 2. He disclosed that this role would allow him to guide the project all the way to completion.
For several years now, the development process of Beyond Good and Evil 2 has experienced numerous challenges. After its official unveiling at E3 2017, the game faced several hurdles along the way, with some key personnel being involved in workplace misconduct investigations. One significant setback for BG&E2’s progress was the untimely death of its former creative director, Emile Morel, in June 2023.
In the course of his employment, Fawzi Mesmar has been a key contributor to several prominent projects at Ubisoft, such as the Mario + Rabbids series, Star Wars Outlaws, and the 20th Anniversary Edition of Beyond Good and Evil. Prior to joining Ubisoft, he held the position of design head at DICE and served as studio design director at King.
