Beware, Pennsylvania Residents! Scammers are Hitting Hard with Bitcoin ATMs 🚨💸
Attorney General Dave Sunday has issued a stern warning to the good people of Pennsylvania, alerting them to the nefarious activities of scammers who are exploiting Bitcoin ATMs or BTMs. These scoundrels are on the prowl, armed with the personal information of unsuspecting consumers, including their bank or financial institution details.
Understanding Bitcoin ATM Scams and Hackers’ Strategies
Sunday noted that these scams usually begin with a phone call, text message, email, or even a message on social media platforms. At other times, it could be an alert on the user’s computer. “Scammers will try to alarm, scare, and persuade you to take sudden action – before you are able to stop and realize you are being scammed,” Attorney General Sunday explained. “My office is offering advice on how to protect yourself from these elaborate deceptions.”
