Betrayal: A Father’s Secret: What Did Jason Lytton Do?

As a dedicated gamer and avid follower of true crime documentaries, I’ve seen my fair share of shocking cases that have left me speechless. But the upcoming Hulu series “Betrayal: A Father’s Secret” has undoubtedly piqued my interest in ways that few other stories have.

Hulu’s upcoming docuseries “Betrayal: A Father’s Secret” will delve into the shocking story of Ashley Lytton, who uncovered disturbing information about her spouse, Jason Lytton. A trailer released by Hulu previews Ashley’s discovery of a chilling secret concerning her husband. Furthermore, the series will detail how law enforcement investigated and eventually apprehended Jason on child sex charges. The documentary is set to premiere on Hulu starting from July 30.

Based on ABC News reports, a person assisting Jason Lytton in setting up a Venmo account uncovered graphic photos of underage girls. The girls in the images ranged from 8 to 15 years old. After this discovery, the person spoke to Lytton’s brother, who then engaged in conversation with him. Later on, Lytton confessed to the person that he had child pornography. According to the arrest affidavit obtained by ABC News, the individual informed the authorities about the situation. Subsequently, the police searched their phone and found the disturbing content. Consequently, Lytton was arrested and charged with 100 counts of exploiting a minor sexually.

What did Jason Lytton from Betrayal: A Father’s Secret do & was he convicted?

According to ABC News, authorities discovered numerous images of undressed young girls on Jason Lytton’s phone. Previously, the ex-convict mentioned having an issue to the person assisting him in establishing a Venmo account. In addition to these photographs, law enforcement uncovered several videos depicting child pornography on the device. Reportedly, Lytton faced ten second-degree felony charges for sexually exploiting a minor, one third-degree felony charge for obstructing justice, and two Class A misdemeanor charges for secretly recording or transmitting obscene material using electronic equipment.

I was following the case of Jason Lytton closely as a gamer and avid news consumer. To my surprise, he never went on trial due to a plea deal. According to ABC News, Jason was found guilty of one charge of sexual exploitation and two voyeurism charges. The other charges were dismissed permanently by the court.

Betrayal: A Father’s Secret will be streaming exclusively on Hulu on Tuesday, July 30.
