Betrayal: A Father’s Secret: Ashley Lytton Reveals How She Learned About Husband Jason Lytton’s Crimes

As a gamer with a keen interest in true crime narratives, I found myself utterly captivated by Hulu’s latest documentary, “Betrayal: A Father’s Secret.” The chilling story of Ashley Lytton and her husband Jason is one that struck me to the core.

In its most recent documentary titled “Betrayal: A Father’s Secret“, Hulu delves into the shocking revelation when a woman, Ashley Lytton, uncovered her husband’s disturbing activities. As revealed in the documentary, Ashley stumbled upon several indecent images of underage girls on her husband’s phone. After making this discovery, she reported it to the authorities and played a crucial role in the arrest of Jason Lytton. The court subsequently charged Jason with multiple offenses such as sexual exploitation of a minor, eventually imprisoning him.

As reported by ABC News, Ashley Lytton, Jason Lytton’s wife, discovered explicit content after he suggested setting up a Venmo account. However, shortly afterward, he asked her to disregard the account. According to Ashley, her husband sounded unusually anxious when he called her back. This prompted her to suspect something was amiss and led her to investigate further. Upon examining her husband’s iCloud account, she uncovered troubling material.

According to ABC News, they reported that a woman gained access to someone’s iCloud account and found a hidden folder containing hundreds of inappropriate images of children. ABC4 Utah later disclosed that authorities uncovered over 1000 explicit pictures of underage girls on Jason Lytton’s phone, along with several videos of child pornography. Following his arrest, Lytton was charged with 100 counts of exploiting a minor sexually.

Speaking with ABC News, Ashley Lytton explained that her decision to contact the authorities about Jason Lytton came when she discovered explicit videos involving someone close to her. She described this as the moment when her initial concern “escalated from a smoldering ember into a full-blown fire within me.” At that point, Ashley took action and devised a strategy to have him apprehended. The news outlet reported that she enticed Jason to meet her in a Walmart parking lot under the guise of a conversation. However, it was the police who arrested him on site, charging him for his offenses.

As I was casually scrolling through my friend’s phone (let’s call him Jason), ABC4 Utah reported that he had someone assist him in setting up a Venmo account. To my shock, amidst the usual selfies and memes, there were photos of underage girls in compromising positions. Rather than reporting it straight away, this person chose to inform Jason’s brother first, laying bare all the disturbing details.

Later on, Jason conversed with his brother and reached out to the anonymous individual who assisted him in establishing the account. This person subsequently contacted the police and disclosed all the details. During their investigation, officers stumbled upon thousands of inappropriate pictures of underage girls and multiple videos containing child pornography. Incredibly, some of these videos included his stepdaughter, Avaya Lytton.

In the documentary, it was revealed that Jason Lytton covertly recorded Avaya, and when Ashley Lytton viewed the videos of her daughter, she felt compelled to act. However, Ashley opted not to inform her own children about the situation. Unfortunately, media coverage thwarted her plans. In an interview with ABC News, she admitted, “I had already decided not to tell the kids. I didn’t fully understand the gravity of the situation at that time. I was planning on telling them that he was in a psychiatric hospital receiving treatment.”

In the Hulu documentary, Avaya openly shared that upon discovering her father’s hidden scandal, she chose to leave and live with her biological dad instead. Furthermore, Avaya expressed struggling to fit into society and found it challenging to socialize with her friends. Consequently, Avaya Lytton opted to reside with her biological father due to these difficulties.

Despite facing multiple felony charges, Jason Lytton opted for a plea bargain instead of going to trial. As per the terms of this agreement, he served a sentence of 329 days in prison. The intriguing documentary titled “Betrayal: A Father’s Secret” can be streamed on Hulu.
