As a devoted K-drama fan who has been following the scene for years, I can’t express enough how grateful I am for websites like Netflix, Disney Plus, Rakuten Viki, and Amazon Prime Video that offer English subtitles for Korean dramas. My life would not be the same without them!
Korean drama enthusiasts reside in various parts of the world, leading numerous streaming platforms and websites to offer a wide selection of K-content. These resources are a blessing for fans who aren’t fluent in Korean, enabling them to enjoy K-dramas conveniently online with English subtitles.
Netflix is a globally prominent streaming service, offering content from various regions. Notably, it hosts an extensive collection of K-dramas and has gained exclusive rights to stream numerous Korean shows and films. On the other hand, Rakuten Viki is a specialized platform that primarily caters to Asian content, including shows, dramas, and movies. A vast majority of popular and semi-popular Korean media can be found on this site.

Best sites to watch K-Dramas online with English subtitles
A few excellent platforms to stream K-Drama shows online with English subtitles are Netflix, Disney+, Rakuten Viki, and Amazon Prime Video.
Netflix
I’m absolutely in love with the diverse selection of K-dramas on Netflix! From classics like Boys Over Flowers and True Beauty, to newer hits like The Heirs, Crash Landing On You, Descendants of the Sun, and Goblin (Guardian: The Lonely and Great God), they have it all. Plus, Netflix is the exclusive home for some amazing Korean productions, such as Hierarchy, Sweet Home, and the sensationally popular Squid Game.
In the meantime, notable series such as Queen of Tears, My Demon, Welcome to Samdal-ri, and The Atypical Family have become available on Netflix. It’s worth mentioning that Netflix missed out on airing Lovely Runner, which held the top rating among K-dramas in 2024. However, the platform has announced its release date: August 1, 2024.
Netflix subscribers have exclusive access to its media library, which is primarily supplied with English subtitles for most selections.
Disney Plus
Disney Plus now offers a notable collection of action-thrillers from South Korea. Over the past two years, it has emerged as an excellent platform to stream K-dramas with English subtitles. Previously, it gained popularity among K-drama enthusiasts due to shows like “Big Mouth,” “Snowdrop,” “The Golden Spoon,” and “Soundtrack” (both seasons).
Lately, there have been some noteworthy programs including “The Worst of Evil,” “Chief Detective 1958,” “A Shop for Killers,” “BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star,” and “Flex x Cop.” Additionally, “Red Swan” has captured audience interest as a current series. However, it’s important to note that Disney Plus is the exclusive streaming platform for accessing this content.
Rakuten Viki
Rakuten Viki is a widely used site for streaming Korean dramas and Asian shows. With nearly all Korean series and films available, it’s particularly popular among viewers who can’t find these titles on larger platforms. A recent hit K-drama on Viki was “Lovely Runner,” featuring Byeon Woo-Seok and Kim Hye-Yoon in the leading roles.
Wi Ha-Joon and Jung Ryeo-Won’s “The Midnight Romance” was additionally broadcast on Hagwon, along with other popular Korean BL (Boys Love) dramas, on the streaming platform.
As a dedicated fan, I’d be happy to share that while it’s necessary to subscribe in order to access most of Viki’s captivating content, there are some shows and episodes generously offered for free online. Moreover, an amazing bonus feature is that all the videos come with English subtitles, ensuring a seamless viewing experience for everyone.
Amazon Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video is yet another streaming platform with a rich collection of excellent Korean dramas. Some noteworthy titles include “W: Two Worlds Apart,” “Tale of the Nine-Tailed (1938),” “My ID is Gangnam Beauty,” and “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo.”
As a dedicated gamer and avid streamer, I’ve been thrilled with the new releases this year on my favorite platform. In January, they introduced “Marry My Husband,” a gripping revenge series starring Park Min-Young that became an international sensation. I couldn’t get enough of it! Additionally, they premiered “Death’s Game” and “Concrete Utopia,” which kept me hooked with their engaging storylines. And the cherry on top? Like other websites, Amazon Prime Video offers English subtitles for all their content – a game-changer for this non-native English speaker like myself!
At the same time, various other platforms to stream K-dramas are available, such as Hulu, HiTV, Viu, iQIYI, and Dramacool. Many of these sites offer mobile apps as well. Therefore, feel free to explore and watch your favorite Korean dramas online with English subtitles.
