Best Nimrod Decks In Marvel Snap

As a seasoned Marvel Snap enthusiast with over a decade of card-slinging under my belt, let me tell you, the latest Nimrod cards have taken the game by storm! From the Days of Future Past to the present, this robotic mutant hunter is causing quite the stir.

This week came a new season of Marvel Snap and, with it, a new slew of cards.

In simpler terms, the main character in “The Days of Future Past” is named Nimrod. He’s an upgraded version of the Sentinels, robots initially created to hunt and eliminate mutants. Interestingly, Nimrod isn’t active until he’s been destroyed. Once destroyed, however, he copies himself and appears at every location, making him quite formidable due to his 5-power strength!

This week, he’s been played frequently, most likely because he is a destruction-oriented card. Currently, destruction-themed decks are very popular and many high-level decks in the game revolve around them.

We’ve gathered some decks that use Nimrod as a core card and can’t wait to show them to you!

Nimrod Sera

This deck has a robust strategy, clearly outlined by focusing on defeating the character Nimrod.

The cards we have to achieve this goal are Carnage and Venom. Both of these cards destroy other cards placed at their location.

The absolute best way to play Nimrod, though, would be on turn 6 after you’ve played Sera.

Once Sera is played she will reduce the cost of all of your cards by 1.

On my sixth turn, if I’ve got a Carnage card in my hand and a Nimrod, I can unleash a powerful combo that boosts the points by five on every single location!

Apart from other characters you might have already used, there’s also Bucky Barnes, who transforms into a 5-power Winter Soldier in the deck.

In simpler terms, when Nova dies, each of his cards will gain an additional 1 unit of power. Similarly, Bishop increases his power by 1 for every card that is played, which means if Nimrod is played, Bishop would theoretically get an additional 3 units of power.

With this deck, there are numerous options to explore, and we anticipate it being widely used during this season due to its reliability.

Nimrod Cerebro

In this deck setup, we’re aiming for a balanced strategy that combines control and aggressive play. Essentially, our objective is to fill the battlefield with powerful cards on our side while restricting your options to place cards on yours, using Polaris as our primary tool for control.

As a gamer, my go-to strategy in this game revolves around using Nimrod’s move on turn 5, followed by Deathlok’s move on turn 6. The aim is to trigger Nimrod’s special ability at the right moment.

After that, the potential is rather high. Turn 6 you would have 3 power left to spend.

Consequently, these cards function similarly to Cerebro, boosting the strength of your most powerful cards by two. Hence, if Nimrod is in play, it will increase their power to seven.

In a tricky predicament, utilizing the card ‘Polaris’ allows you to shift any of your opponent’s lower-value cards (1 or 2 points) towards her position, thereby congesting their playing field.

An alternative approach could involve playing the Wave card on turn 3, followed by summoning any of your 6-mana cards during turn 4.

In simpler terms, Doom might deploy five identical figures (clones) to your different spots, reducing your reliance on Nimrod. If fortune favors you, you can also play Nimrod, amplifying your presence further across the game board.

Nimrod Death

Similar to the previously discussed decks, this one primarily aims at eliminating your playing cards. The key cards within this deck include Nimrod, the Destroyer, and Death.

While you can’t play all of them in one game, you will play one of them at least. Ideally, we would have Nimrod turn 5, and then Destroyer turn 6.

Destroyer is great at, you guessed it, destroying our cards.

Additionally, we’ll find Wave on the engine yet again. Her assistance could be invaluable, whether it’s freeing Nimrod earlier in the game or securing Death for us if we manage to hold onto her by the fourth turn.

Death is a card you can always potentially play early if you’ve destroyed a lot of cards. Venom, Carnage, and Deathlok will let us get the power reduction for Death to be played while also potentially bringing in even bigger power pops with Bucky and Nimrod.

Nimrod Galactus

As a seasoned collector with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that this deck is something special. It’s not your ordinary set; it’s more like a treasure chest filled with goodies! Not only does it contain top-tier control cards, but it also boasts some exclusive additions from Series 4 and Series 5. This deck promises an exciting gaming experience, and I can’t wait to see what surprises it holds for me!

From a practical perspective, encountering this deck on the ladder will likely be an uncommon occurrence; however, in a purely speculative scenario, it seems incredibly enjoyable!

It’s best to ensure that one of our bases has sufficient power so it can potentially win the game. We aim to utilize Galactus effectively on turn 6, provided he is drawn.

If Galactus stands alone at a particular location, he will eliminate the other two spots and the corresponding cards there.

It narrows down the playing field to just one, which is cool. Having just 6 power at one location isn’t ideal though, so that is why we have cards like Wolverine and Nimrod.

At this undesired spot, engaging in these activities can serve as a diversion for our adversaries, keeping Galactus at bay.

However, by doing this, it ensures that on Turn 6, during our game with Galactus, the effects of the destroyed cards will be directed to a single location, thus ensuring both Wolverine and Nimrod’s placement in that spot, guaranteed.

One intriguing strategy outside the main game could involve using Hobgoblin in a location intended for Galactus, or playing Doctor Octopus at another location, which would snatch four cards from the opponent’s hand at random and ultimately result in their defeat during the final round. This deck is definitely ruthless!
