From a devoted Elden Ring fan here: The final act of Nightreign has shifted, and the pursuit of elusive Sovereign Sigils offers tantalizing glimpses into possible future content. Given their scarcity and worth, it’s crucial to know the best ways to spend your hard-earned Sovereign Sigils. Today, let’s uncover the secrets!
The best items to buy with Sovereign Sigils
To begin accumulating Sovereign Sigils, it’s essential to conquer at least one Everdark Sovereign Expedition initially. Your inaugural victory will net you 25 Sigils. Subsequent triumphs grant you either five or, should fortune favor you, seven Sigils, rendering them highly valuable, particularly if you find the Sovereign battles challenging.
Among all the options available for purchasing Sigils at the Collector’s Signpost, only six are truly valuable following the updated Adel battle release. To be precise, these include:
1. Sigil of the Storm (Stormcaller’s)
2. Sigil of the Mountain (Mountaineer’s)
3. Sigil of the Forest (Forester’s)
4. Sigil of the Flame (Pyromancer’s)
5. Sigil of the Sea (Mariner’s)
6. Sigil of the Air (Aeronaut’s)
Three specific Relics
At the Collector Signpost, you have the option to purchase as many as 13 unique Relics with three effects each. However, many of these items work optimally on particular Nightfarers or have specialized functions. Among them, the next three I’ll mention are more versatile or, in one instance, are approaching a state where they may not function effectively anymore.
Relic Name | Relic Color | Relic Sigil Cost | Relic Effects |
---|---|---|---|
Grand Luminous Scene | Yellow | Three Sovereign Sigils |
Permanently increases attack power for each evergaol encounter completed Some hidden treasures and scarabs are marked on the map Start the Expedition with a Stonesword Key in your inventory |
Grand Burning Scene | Red | Three Sovereign Sigils |
Improved Stance-Breaking when you’re using two weapons Each attack that hits restores a small portion of Stamina +3 to your starting Endurance stat |
Grand Tranquil Scene | Blue | Three Sovereign Sigils |
Increases your maximum FP with three or more Staves equipped Permanently increase your maximum FP every time you complete a Mage’s Tower Weapon Magic attack power up |
Among these three relics, the Luminous Scene stands out as the one with the widest range of utility due to its ability to increase attack power swiftly and offer a high probability of valuable loot drops from evergaols. The other two relics have a more specialized focus, either benefiting melee or spellcasting classes, but they still retain some degree of versatility.
The Relic Rite Urn that best complements your current best Relic set
The heart of advancement in Nightreign lies in mastering Farming Relics, strategizing ideal Expedition paths, and understanding the tactics required to conquer each Nightlord. Additionally, amass a substantial number of Relic Urns, Goblets, and Grails for housing your relics. Notably, you can spend four Sovereign Sigils to acquire distinct Urns that are exclusive within the game.
The choice of the ideal relic depends on which Nightfarer character you’re playing. However, the optimal selection allows you to utilize your strongest Relics in innovative ways. For me, Duchess’ Urn with two red slots and one green slot is an excellent option. This enables me to equip the Burning Scene, another potent red relic, along with Duchess’ final Remembrance Relic (or any other green relic that enhances the build I wish to specialize in).
The choice of which character, whether it’s Duchess, Wylder, Raider, or another, hinges significantly on the quality of your Relics. I would recommend initially purchasing one or two Urns to get started, as four Sigils can be quite costly. For now, focus on the character you’re most familiar with when facing the current Everdark Sovereign. As you accumulate more Sigils, gradually expand your character collection.
Either the Rotted Woods or Noklateo Shifting Earth events
Among the four Earth-shifting occurrences, the ones named Rotted Woods and Noklateo stand out as the most favorable, requiring just one Sovereign Sigil to be triggered at the Collector’s Marker for their activation.
In comparison to the other three areas, The Decayed Forest poses the least challenge, but it houses over a dozen Powerful Major Enemies once the reward is claimed. Gathering this reward from The Decayed Forest also provides a significant increase in your maximum Health, and there’s even a chance of regaining Health if you strike an enemy immediately after sustaining damage.
Navigating Noklateo is trickier than just trekking through the Rotten Woods for an upgrade, as the boss guarding the prize is considerably tougher. Yet, a single-use revive item that boosts the whole team temporarily could rescue a seemingly lost journey. If you and your comrades can endure it until late in a battle against the Nightlord, the chances improve significantly.
In simpler terms, the rewards from Craters and Mountain Tops are more dependent on specific circumstances because they require a weapon to make the most of them. Having a top-grade legendary weapon is beneficial, but it doesn’t ensure you’ll get one that suits your needs during your journey. Additionally, the upgrade for Mountaintop focuses on Frostbite, making it less effective unless you come across Frost weapons or encounter Caligo during the Fissure in the Fog Expedition.
That one skin you really like but don’t have the Murk for
The minor and less significant purpose of Sovereign Emblems is facilitating a more straightforward acquisition of character costumes for your Nightfarers. While I wouldn’t advise investing 20 Emblems in the Darkness skins, once you unlock the Dark Souls legacy skins, each priced at just five Emblems, feel free to choose your favorite pair and indulge. However, make sure you have enough currency for the purchase.
You might want to hold onto your Sigils since there’s a chance that more skins may be released as Nightreign’s journey progresses. If FromSoftware decides to introduce additional iconic characters and armor sets, not having to farm Murk for some of them could spare you a great deal of time and hardship in the future, especially if these Skins become increasingly costly.
It’s particularly challenging if you don’t intend to invest heavily in Nightreign beyond its initial release, as accumulating enough Murk currency to purchase all the skins is already difficult. Adding new skins at even higher costs would only exacerbate the difficulty.
As a seasoned gamer delving into Elden Ring, here are some top-notch ways to expend your Sovereign Sigils: Nightreign, whether you’ve just conquered your initial Everdark Sovereign or you’re an old hand at this. At a particular juncture, you’ll amass enough to purchase everything; that goes for the other vendors too.
