Marnie Rays and Otter Surfboards have teamed up with Bentley to create a custom surfboard. This unique piece, designed to embody craftsmanship and adventure, boasts Koa veneer sourced from Bentley’s renowned woodshop in Crewe – the same facility that provides luxury interiors for their grand touring vehicles.
This project seamlessly blends Bentley’s renowned craftsmanship in fine woodworking with Otter Surfboards’ skillful hand-shaping techniques and Marnie Rays’ essence of laid-back elegance. The Koa wood, obtained from Hawaii, honors the traditional surfboard manufacturing process and upholds Bentley’s longstanding dedication to utilizing responsibly sourced materials.
A brief movie, released alongside the launch, follows Bentley’s journey from its headquarters to being crafted in Cornwall, ending with it gliding on the Cornish waves. The surfboard, adorned with logos of all three collaborators, will make its first appearance at Marnie Rays’ exclusive surf getaway in Cornwall.
After being unveiled, the surfboard is set for an auction with all proceeds going towards Surfability UK – a charitable organization that focuses on providing surfing opportunities for people with various disabilities, injuries, or unique learning abilities.
