Ben Affleck to Direct Kidnapping Thriller Animals, Will Star Alongside Gillian Anderson

According to a recent report by Deadline, it’s confirmed that Ben Affleck will both helm and act in the upcoming Netflix suspense film titled Animals.

What do we know about Animals?

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that, according to recent updates, the upcoming thriller has Gillian Anderson joining the cast and production team. Alongside Ben Affleck’s Artists Equity banner, she’ll be producing this intriguing project. For now, the specifics about the film’s storyline are kept under lock and key, but Deadline hints that the movie will center around a gripping kidnapping case.

In this project, apart from me, there are other key figures like Matt Damon, Dani Bernfield, Gerry Cardinale, Brad Weston, and Collin Creighton who are also involved. Michael Joe, Kevin Halloran, and Lucy Damon of Artists Equity have been appointed as executive producers for the movie.

In terms of his upcoming directorial projects, Affleck is set to work on a movie after 2023’s biographical sports drama “Air”, where he also acted alongside Matt Damon. Initially, Affleck had intended to direct the film with Matt Damon as the potential lead actor. (Deadline reports this information.)

Nevertheless, Deadline mentions that issues regarding the rights to certain elements delayed production. With Damon currently committed to star in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Affleck is set to direct the project despite these delays.

Beyond his directorial roles, Affleck is set to appear in The Accountant 2 this year, as well as RIP, a forthcoming project where he and Damon will team up once more. In the meantime, Anderson will star in the upcoming standalone sequel to Tron: Legacy, titled Tron: Ares.
