In the upcoming film “The Accountant 2,” Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal, two of its stars, have each chosen their preferred Marvel superheroes.
Back in 2003, I stepped into the shoes of Matt Murdock in the iconic Daredevil film, helmed by Mark Steven Johnson. Fast forward to 2005, and I had a fleeting moment as Matt Murdock again in Elektra, though that scene was eventually cut. Later on, I got the chance to don another superhero’s cape when I played Batman for a while within the DCEU universe.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Bernthal portrays Frank Castle/Punisher. He debuted as this character in Daredevil Season 2 and later headlined two seasons of Netflix’s The Punisher series. Most recently, he reappeared in Daredevil: Born Again, and fans can expect to see him again in an upcoming Punisher special on Disney+, though the exact release date has yet to be announced.
Who are Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal’s favorite Marvel characters?
Complex recently posted a video featuring Affleck and Bernthal, who were asked to select their preferred Marvel characters. Affleck opted for Wolverine, whereas Bernthal went with the Punisher.
Affleck responded to Bernthal’s choice by saying, “I didn’t specifically mention Daredevil, but I think you understand what I meant.” However, regarding the title of ‘best performer in the history of Marvel,’ Affleck agreed with him, yes.
As a dedicated gamer, let me tell you, when it comes to Marvel, for me, the Punisher takes the cake. He’s my favorite, hands down.
Indeed, that brings me back to my comic book days,” I mused. “I’ve always been a fan of The Punisher, but there’s something about Wolverine that really captivates me…
In the gaming world, I’m diving back into the action as Christian Wolff and Braxton in The Accountant 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 2016 movie that’s now gracing screens across U.S. theaters. Directed by Gavin O’Connor, this new film brings along Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Marybeth Medina, Daniella Pineda as Anaïs, J. K. Simmons as Raymond King, Allison Robertson as Justine, and a host of other talented actors to the mix.
Eight episodes of Daredevil: Born Again, together with both Daredevil and Punisher series from Netflix, can be found streaming now on Disney+. Additionally, the 2003 Daredevil film is available for streaming on Disney+ as well.
