Ben Affleck is gearing up for his upcoming Netflix thriller “Animals,” taking on both directorial and acting roles, according to Deadline’s reports. Sources also indicate that Gillian Anderson has joined the cast. The film will be shot in Los Angeles from a script penned by Connor McIntyre and Billy Ray.
Plot details are being kept under wraps other than the film revolving around a kidnapping.
Last year, Affleck was considering directing his next film, tentatively titled “Animals,” with Matt Damon set for the lead role. However, issues with the rights postponed production, forcing Affleck to shift focus towards a sequel to “The Accountant” and “Animals” being pushed back. Despite this, Affleck remained determined to bring “Animals” to life. After starring alongside Damon in the Netflix crime thriller “RIP“, which is set to premiere later this year on the streaming platform, he saw a chance to make “Animals” his next project.
