Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal will once again take on their roles as brothers Christian Wolff and Brax in “The Accountant 2”. This upcoming sequel to the 2016 thriller is being produced by Amazon MGM Studio, with a planned release later this month. The initial news of the second installment of this series was announced in 2021, and at that time, it was suggested that the films would form part of a trilogy.
The film’s summary presents the character Christian Wolff, portrayed by Affleck, as a skilled problem solver. When an old contact is mysteriously killed and a message left behind reads ‘find the accountant’, Wolff feels compelled to investigate. As things escalate, he enlists his brother Brax (Bernthal), who is both estranged and extremely dangerous, for help. Alongside U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), they uncover a lethal conspiracy, placing them squarely in the crosshairs of a relentless network of assassins determined to keep their dark secrets hidden.
Under the guidance of producer-director duo Ben Affleck and Gavin O’Connor, with Mark Williams also producing, this upcoming film is set to captivate audiences. Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal share lead roles, joined by Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, and J.K. Simmons. To get a sneak peek, check out the new trailer above, or revisit the original below. The sequel to “The Accountant”, titled “The Accountant 2”, is set to hit theaters on April 25th.
