Beloved The Office Star Returning for Peacock Sequel Series

It’s been said that a prominent actor from The Office has apparently signed on to be part of the ensemble for the upcoming Peacock series, known as “The Paper.

2024 saw an exciting revelation: I, as a devoted fan, learned that the brilliant mind behind “The Office,” Greg Daniels, was cooking up a spin-off series! This upcoming show is set within the same captivating universe as our beloved sitcom but will delve into the lives of new characters who toil at a Midwestern newspaper.

The main players of The Paper are Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, Ramona Young, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Tim Key, and Eric Rahill.)

Which The Office star has joined the cast of the spin-off series?

According to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, Oscar Nuñez is set to take on the role of Oscar Martinez again in the film The Paper.

In the popular sitcom “The Office,” Núñez portrays Oscar, a close coworker to Kevin Malone (Brian Baumgartner) and Angela Martin (Angela Kinsey), throughout all nine seasons. During the final episode, Oscar is revealed as a candidate for state senator and becomes the godfather of Dwight Schrute’s (Rainn Wilson) and Angela’s son, Philip.

As a devoted fan, I’m speculating that if Oscar wins the election (which isn’t definitive yet), he could become a political figure worthy of coverage by The Paper. However, his involvement in the upcoming spin-off series remains uncertain.

This Production is orchestrated and overseen by Daniels and Michael Koman. Additionally, Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas all play executive producer roles. Lastly, this project comes from Universal Television.

Additionally gracing our screens are some distinguished guests like Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, and Tracy Letts.

The release date for “The Paper” is still unknown, but all nine seasons of “The Office” can be streamed now on Peacock.
