Bella Thorne's fan-favorite drama movie is back on Netflix in July

I’m absolutely thrilled that Bella Thorne’s heartwarming and emotional film, “Midnight Sun,” is coming back to Netflix in just a day! Having followed Thorne’s career since her Disney days, it’s been amazing to see her take on such diverse roles. Her portrayal of Katie Price in this romantic drama was both captivating and moving.

Bella Thorne, who was famously known for portraying CeCe Jones in Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up,” has since expanded her acting repertoire. She has taken on numerous roles and graced our screens in Netflix originals including “The Babysitter,” “The Babysitter: Killer Queen,” and “You Get Me.”

One role that many people found appealing in the romantic drama film “Midnight Sun” was played by Katie Price. Previously, this movie was accessible for streaming on Netflix, but unfortunately, it was taken down. However, we’re thrilled to announce that starting tomorrow, “Midnight Sun” will once again be available on Netflix for viewers to enjoy.

Similar to many films, “Midnight Sun” is inspired by an existing work. Its foundation lies in the 2006 Japanese romantic drama, “A Song to the Sun.” The film was helmed by Scott Speer, known for directing “Step Up Revolution,” and its screenplay was penned by Eric Kirsten. It graced the big screens back in March 2018.

The tale centers around Katie Price, a young and determined musician, who is afflicted with a peculiar medical issue known as xeroderma pigmentosum (XP). This condition restricts her from exposure to sunlight, compelling her to explore the outdoors exclusively under the cover of night. In one fateful nighttime encounter, Katie crosses paths with Charlie Reed, her long-standing crush. As their bond deepens, Katie grapples with the challenge of concealing her medical situation from him.

In the role of Charlie’s co-star is Patrick Schwarzenegger, an actor you may recall from his past appearances in “Moxie” on Netflix, the crime drama miniseries “The Staircase,” and the action thriller series “The Terminal List.” Most recently, he portrayed Luke Riordan/Golden Boy in the superhero show “Gen V.”

Thorne and Schwarzenegger will be joined by an ensemble cast consisting of Rob Riggle, Quinn Shephard, Suleka Mathew, Nicholas Coombe, Ken Tremblett, Jennifer Griffin, Tiera Skovbye, Austin Obiajunwa, Alex Pangburn, Paul McGillion, and a number of other talented actors.

This PG-13 rated film, marked as suitable for ages thirteen and above, contains scenes of teenage partying and subtle sensuality. The movie’s runtime is only 91 minutes long. Considering the emotional depth, it would be an excellent choice to share this experience with a loved one or your dearest friends. However, watching it alone is still an option. Just remember to have some tissues handy as it may bring tears to your eyes.
