As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must confess that I am always on the lookout for fresh and captivating stories to immerse myself in. The upcoming supernatural thriller series, “Before,” starring the iconic Billy Crystal, has piqued my interest significantly.

Apple TV Plus officially announced when the premiere of Billy Crystal’s forthcoming supernatural thriller series, “Before,” will take place.

Additionally, you can catch a glimpse of the upcoming limited series where Crystal portrays a dedicated child psychiatrist who appears troubled by some supernatural forces.

On October 25, 2024, the series will make its worldwide debut on Apple TV Plus. Two initial episodes will be accessible from that date itself. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly, with a new one arriving every Friday until December 20, 2024.

What is Before about?

Initially, Dr. Eli, a child psychologist, finds himself in a new phase of life following the passing of his wife, Lynn (portrayed by Judith Light). During this time, he meets a distressed young boy named Noah (Jacobi Jupe), who appears to hold an enigmatic link to Eli’s past. As Eli strives to aid Noah, their peculiar relationship unfolds with increasing depth and intrigue.

In this supernatural mystery series, you’ll find Judith Light, a multiple Emmy and Tony Award winner (Transparent), Jacobi Jupe from Peter Pan & Wendy, Oscar nominee Rosie Perez (The Flight Attendant), Maria Dizzia who was nominated for a Tony Award (Orange Is the New Black), and Ava Lalezarzadeh, who starred in In the Garden of Tulips.

The series hails from Paramount Television Studio and is masterminded by Sarah Thorp. In addition to being its creator, Thorp takes on the roles of showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Alongside Thorp in her executive producing role is Crystal, with Eric Roth (Killers of the Flower Moon, Dune) also serving as an executive producer. Adam Bernstein (Silo, Billions), who will direct the pilot episode, and Jet Wilkinson (The Chi, Truth Be Told), in charge of the producing direction, are also part of the executive team.

Billy Crystal is particularly recognized for his humorous characters, making this role a noteworthy change of pace for the performer. He initially gained prominence as part of Saturday Night Live and later appeared in successful films like “When Harry Met Sally,” “Monsters Inc.,” “The Princess Bride,” “Analyze This,” “City Slickers,” and “Spirited Away.”
