Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Has ‘Stronger Story’ Than Original Movie, Says Michael Keaton

As a long-time fan who grew up with Tim Burton’s quirky and captivating world, hearing Michael Keaton talk about Beetlejuice Beetlejuice fills me with an uncontainable excitement! Having watched the original movie countless times, I can confidently say that the sequel sounds like a masterpiece in the making.

Michael Keaton expresses the opinion that the reboot of “Beetlejuice” carries a more potent narrative compared to Tim Burton’s initial film.

In American cinemas starting from September 2024, you’ll find the movie titled “Beetlejuice” once more. This new release is a follow-up to the 1988 original, where Michael Keaton returns to his roguish character Betelgeuse.

What did Michael Keaton say about Beetlejuice Beetlejuice?

In an interview with Total Film Magazine about the upcoming movie, Keaton expressed his view that Beetlejuice 2 boasts a “more robust narrative” compared to the original Beetlejuice film. He further mentioned that there is a stronger emotional tie for the audience with the additional characters in this sequel.

As a devoted fan, I found myself continuing with enthusiasm, “There were elements in here I wasn’t prepared for, they surpassed my expectations. Instead of counting down the days until a particular event or longing for Beetlejuice to unleash his chaos, I was simply captivated.”

In addition to Keaton, the movie features Winona Ryder playing Lydia Deetz, Catherine O’Hara in the role of Delia Deetz, Jenna Ortega as Astrid Deetz, Justin Theroux as Rory, Monica Bellucci portraying Delores, and Willem Dafoe taking on the character of Wolf Jackson.

“Ryder expressed high assurance that it would not only meet but surpass expectations. Not only did it impress him greatly, but he believes each generation will discover aspects they’ll truly admire.”

Theroux commented, “This film boldly swings for the fences. The surreal aspects give it an edgy, unpredictable feel. It’s raw and unrestrained, almost as if Tim Burton himself had spilled his creative thoughts directly onto the screen. Unlike many movies that cater to audience preferences or follow studio guidelines, this one is a unique, unfiltered expression – a thrilling journey because of it.”

Under the guidance of director Burton, the long-awaited revival of Beetlejuice is set to hit American theaters on September 6, 2024, courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures. In case you’re craving some spooky fun right now, the original Beetlejuice film is available for streaming on Max.
