Does Betelgeuse die in Beetlejuice 2?
In the movie Beetlejuice, portrayed by Michael Keaton, is a supernatural being hailing from the realm of Neitherworld, making his death impossible in a traditional sense. However, the film suggests that he may have been destroyed instead. Astrid (played by Jenna Ortega) uncovers a breach in Betelgeuse’s contract with Lydia, which contravenes rules mentioned in The Handbook for the Recently Deceased. When Lydia chants his name thrice, he explodes like a burst balloon. However, at the movie’s end, Lydia experiences a disturbing dream where she encounters Betelgeuse once more, hinting that he might still be alive somewhere and that her actions only served to banish him, not eliminate him completely.

Charles and Delia
In the sequel, Charles, who was previously Lydia’s father from the initial film, passes away at the outset. This tragic event causes the rest of the Deetz family to go back to Winter River. Delia, Charles’ wife and Lydia’s stepmother (portrayed by Catherine O’Hara), later perishes due to snakebites within the movie. Jeremy
23 years prior to the storyline in Beetlejuice, the character Jeremy (Arthur Conti) had met an untimely end. It’s disclosed that he committed the tragic act of murdering his own parents, which ultimately led to his demise at the hands of police officers. In the film, the character Betelgeuse transports him to a realm reminiscent of hell.
Rory
In the movie, Rory (portrayed by Justin Theroux) is Lydia’s partner. However, just before their wedding, he confesses that he had been taking advantage of her. Later in the story, Rory meets an unfortunate end when a sandworm summoned by Astrid consumes him.
Delores
In simpler terms, Delores (played by Monica Bellucci) was previously married to Betelgeuse during the time of the Black Plague. Now, she’s transformed into a being that feeds off souls, and her quest is to find her ex-husband. Similar to Rory, she meets an unfortunate end when she is devoured by a sandworm.
Richard
Richard (played by Santiago Cabrera) used to be married to Lydia and is the father of Astrid. He went missing in South America, and it’s eventually disclosed that he was devoured by piranhas. Later on, he aids Lydia in rescuing Astrid from Jeremy, and subsequently supports them in their quest to return to the mortal realm.
