Beef Season 2 Cast Adds Parasite Star Song Kang-Ho

As a devoted fan of both Korean cinema and gripping TV series, I can hardly contain my excitement about Song Kang-Ho joining the cast of Beef Season 2! This talented actor has graced our screens with his captivating performances in iconic films like Parasite, Snowpiercer, and The Host. His addition to the ensemble promises a richer, more compelling narrative that I can hardly wait to unravel.

Parasite’s Song Kang-Ho has joined the cast of Beef Season 2.

In the year 2023, Lee Sung Jin’s first season of the show Beef premiered on Netflix. This series turned out to be a major success for the streaming service, garnering eight awards at the 75th Primetime Emmys, including the category for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.

Beef was renewed for a second season, which will feature new cast members, in October 2024.

As of now, details are still being held back, but I’ve been given the opportunity to step into a role for Beef Season 2, as reported by Deadline. I’ll be joining the already confirmed stars like Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, and Youn Yuh-jung in this exciting project. As a gamer, I can hardly wait to dive into this new adventure!

Actor Song is recognized for his role as Kim Ki-taek in Bong Joon-ho’s movie Parasite, which premiered in 2019 and took home the Oscar for Best Picture. Notably, he has also appeared in various films directed by Bong Joon-ho, such as Memories of Murder from 2003, The Host from 2006, and Snowpiercer from 2013.

Song’s collection of films spans from No. 3 in 1997, Joint Security Area in 2000, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance in 2002, The Good, the Bad, the Weird in 2008, The Attorney in 2013, A Taxi Driver in 2017, and most recently Broker in 2022. These are just a few of his many films.

During Season 2, a youthful pair observes a distressing altercation between their superior and his spouse, leading to strategic maneuvers of favors and pressure in the exclusive society of a golf club run by a wealthy South Korean individual.” (Deadline’s description of the plot)

As the creator, showrunner, and executive producer, I’m thrilled to be back for another round of Beef Season 2. This time around, we’ve got A24 on board too. Alongside me, Steven Yeun, Ali Wong, Jake Schreier, Kitao Sakurai, Ethan Kuperberg, Anna Moench, Mulligan, Isaac, Melton, and Spaeny are all executive producers. Can’t wait to dive back into the game!
