The popular Netflix drama series by Tyler Perry titled “Beauty in Black” has just been given the go-ahead for a second season. Fans are eagerly awaiting news about when it will air and its official release date. Recently, Taylor Polidore, who plays Kimmie in the show, provided some insight on this topic.
Taylor Polidore says Beauty in Black Season 2’s release date is a ‘Netflix decision’
According to Taylor Polidore during a recent interview, deciding when Beauty in Black would be released was not her call and instead belonged to Netflix. The first season of Beauty in Black was divided into two halves, each containing eight episodes. On October 24, 2024, the initial half premiered on Netflix, while Part 2 was released on March 6, 2025.
When inquired about the potential release date for Season 2 by the interviewer, Polidore replied humorously, “It’s amusing because we’ve already announced ‘Hey, there will be a Season 2.’ And I see numerous comments such as ‘Give it to us immediately,’ ‘Can you make it available right now?'”
The actress went on to say, “I’m unsure about its release date. That’s something beyond my knowledge. That matters to Netflix, not me. However, I’m certain that it will be released when it’s most appropriate.
The tale “Beauty in Black” follows the journey of Kimmie, a dancer with an alluring charm. Struggling to clear a significant financial burden, Kimmie crosses paths with the wealthy and influential Bellarie family, who sponsor a highly profitable scholarship at a top-tier hairdressing academy.
In addition to Polidore, the ensemble of Beauty in Black features Crystle Stewart portraying Mallory, Ricco Ross playing Horace, Julian Horton in the role of Roy, Steven G. Norfleet acting as Charles, Richard Lawson as Norman, Charles Malik Whitfield depicting Jules, and Debbi Morgan bringing Olivia to life, among others.
Despite facing considerable criticism from professional reviewers, “Beauty in Black” proved to be a hit among Netflix users, garnering over 8.7 million views during the week of October 28, placing it atop Netflix’s TV chart for that period.
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t wait to dive back into the game world with Season 2! Although the release date is yet to be confirmed, what we do know is that it’s going to drop in two exciting installments, just like its predecessor.
