B&B Italia marks two decades since the introduction of its renowned modular sofa by unveiling Tufty-Time 20, a sophisticated update from the original design conceived by Patricia Urquiola.
From its introduction in 2005, Tufty-Time has stood out as a symbol of contemporary furniture design by effortlessly blending traditional tufted styles with a versatile modular structure. Over time, it’s been updated in various ways, such as the leather version, Tufty-Too, and Tufty-Time ’15. Now, B&B Italia presents Tufty-Time 20, an update that enhances seating comfort while broadening its design possibilities.
The seating has been made even more comfortable by adding extra padding and adjusting the seat height. This results in a more welcoming and supportive sitting environment. A generous amount of recycled polyester, sandwiched between the polyurethane and fabric layers, gives it a soft, plush cushioning effect. Moreover, incorporating a curved design expands the system’s versatility, enabling various flexible arrangements that promote face-to-face conversations and communal engagement.
In our redesign process, sustainability took center stage. The entire structure was intentionally designed for easy disassembly, allowing each part to be repurposed or recycled when its useful life ends. This decision underscores B&B Italia’s dedication to eco-friendly design and the values of a circular economy.
As a gamer, I’m thrilled to be part of the celebration as Tufty-Time 20 unveils its latest addition – a luxurious chenille fabric in wool with a bouclé effect, elevating the collection’s tactile elegance. To complete the setup, B&B Italia has rolled out an exquisite coffee table series crafted from either oak wood or anodized aluminum. These tables have been thoughtfully designed to harmonize flawlessly with the modular elements of the sofa, offering not just functionality but also a stunning visual appeal that takes my gaming experience to new heights!
