Batman Makes His DCU Debut in Creature Commandos Episode 6

As a longtime DC fan, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment at the confirmation that Robert Pattinson’s Batman won’t be joining the DC Universe. Having grown up watching Christian Bale and Ben Affleck don the cape and cowl, I had high hopes that Pattinson might find his way into the fold someday. But alas, it seems that’s not meant to be.

Still, I can’t help but feel a sense of intrigue as well. The new Batman in Creature Commandos Episode 6 looks quite different from Pattinson’s leaner version, with a more muscular build reminiscent of Ben Affleck’s portrayal. While it’s sad to see the door closed on one interpretation, I can’t help but wonder if this could open up opportunities for actors like Alan Ritchson, who have expressed interest in the role in the past.

In any case, I’m excited to see where James Gunn and the rest of the DC team take the universe next. And hey, maybe they’ll surprise us all by finding a way to bring Pattinson into the fold after all – one can always hope!

Oh, and as for the joke: If Batman’s debut in Creature Commandos has shown us anything, it’s that even superheroes need a good PR team sometimes. I just hope whoever’s handling Batman’s image in the DCU knows not to put him in a onesie… again!

Creature Commandos marks the formal commencement of James Gunn’s DC Universe and introduces Batman in a fresh light. However, the actor portraying this latest incarnation of the Dark Knight hasn’t been announced yet. Nonetheless, it’s confirmed that Robert Pattinson won’t be the masked vigilante for this new adaptation.

Creature Commandos Episode 6 reveals the first look at DCU’s Batman

Even though James Gunn has repeatedly stated that a different Batman will feature in the DC Universe, fans of Robert Pattinson’s portrayal still clung to the possibility that his version might somehow fit into the DCU. However, it now appears that this won’t happen, as evidence from Batman’s debut in Creature Commandos Episode 6 suggests.

Here’s the first look at Batman in the DC Universe:

In Creature Commandos Episode 6, I found myself reminiscing about a past event through a flashback sequence, where none other than Batman made an appearance. This brief moment suggested that he was instrumental in locking up Dr. Phosphorus. Although his screen time was limited, it served to solidify the fact that Robert Pattinson won’t be gracing the DC Universe with his presence anytime soon.

In this updated take on The Dark Knight, Pattinson’s version is noticeably slimmer compared to the muscular one we’re used to. If the creators, Gunn, Safran, and Reeves, had intentions of incorporating Pattinson into the DCU, his leaner Batman appearance in Creature Commandos would have been a hint. However, since that didn’t occur, it’s clear that Matt Reeves’ universe will persist as an alternate storyline, separate from the main DC continuity.

In the future, the DCU will feature a more muscular Batman, reminiscent of Ben Affleck’s portrayal. This appearance might rule out Robert Pattinson’s version but could pave the way for actors like Alan Ritchson, who has expressed interest in playing the role previously.

In the series Creature Commandos, Frank Grillo lends his voice to the character Rick Flag Sr., while Steve Agee voices Economos, Anya Chalotra plays Circe, and Zoe Chao portrays Nina Mazursky. Additionally, Viola Davis will voice Amanda Waller, Maria Bakalova takes on Princess Ilana, Indira Varma portrays The Bride, Sean Gunn lends his voice to both GI Robot and Weasel, David Harbour voices Frankenstein, and Alan Tudyk portrays Dr. Phosphorus.

After six episodes, Creature Commandos will stream its finale on January 9, 2025.
