Barry Keoghan Joins Cillian Murphy in Peaky Blinders Movie Cast

Actor Barry Keoghan is now part of the cast for the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie on Netflix. According to Deadline, he will be sharing screen time with fellow Irish actor Cillian Murphy in this feature film adaptation.

1. In July, Rebecca Ferguson was added to the cast with an unspecified role. Meanwhile, Murphy continues his portrayal of Tommy Shelby, a gangster from Birmingham. As for Keoghan’s character, it has yet to be revealed.

As stated by Netflix, “The movie will be an epic sequel to the critically acclaimed, six-season crime drama. This story unfolds in Birmingham from 1919 to 1934, focusing on the journey of the Shelby family as they maneuver through a time marked by significant social, economic, and political upheaval.”

Originating from the mind of Steven Knight, the television show “Peaky Blinders” made its debut in the year 2013. Over a span of six captivating seasons, it graced our screens, culminating with its last season airing in 2022.

In the upcoming production, Tom Harper – known for his direction in the initial season – will be at the helm, working from a script penned by Knight. Caryn Mandabach, Knight, Murphy, and Guy Heeley are slated as producers. Additionally, Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren, and David Mason have been named executive producers.

The movie will be available for streaming on Netflix, in collaboration with the BBC. It’s anticipated that production will commence towards the end of this year.
