As a seasoned cinema enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that the cancellation of the pre-release event for Devara: Part 1 has left me a tad disappointed, much like a child who’s been told they can’t have their favorite ice cream on a scorching summer day. However, life, much like cinema, is full of unexpected twists and turns, and sometimes, the show must be called off due to uncontrollable circumstances.
As a passionate film enthusiast, I was eagerly awaiting the premiere of Devara: Part 1 – one of the highly anticipated action-drama films that has kept cinema lovers on their toes. In anticipation, the makers had planned a pre-release event in Hyderabad on September 22, five days prior to the film’s release on September 27. Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen circumstances, this event had to be canceled. The team behind the upcoming movie has now released an official statement to update fans about this unexpected change in plans.
In a formal announcement, the Devara: Part 1 team declared that they would not be holding the pre-release event in Hyderabad. They expressed their anticipation for this day as they’ve put in countless years of effort into this film and wished to celebrate it grandly since it marks the first solo release of their esteemed actor, NTR (Man of Masses), after six years.
Nevertheless, they encountered several obstacles. The team explained that the pre-release event was set just before Ganesh Nimarjanam, a time when extensive preparations are usually necessary for such large-scale events, lasting at least a week. Moreover, inclement weather over the past few days posed numerous difficulties. Although it didn’t rain on the day of the event, the unfavorable conditions due to the weather would have made an outdoor event impractical even with careful planning.
In an unexpected turn of events, the incredible enthusiasm of the fans exceeded our careful preparations, leading to barricades being breached by the surging crowd. To ensure the safety of all attendees, we were compelled to make the difficult choice and cancel the event. I acknowledge that many fans have journeyed from across the nation to honor their idol, but our utmost priority is everyone’s safe return home.
We sincerely regret any trouble caused and express our heartfelt apologies for the predicament. We appreciate your patience and cooperation. From Team Devara,” was the message, as the crowd grew agitated, Jr NTR, accompanied by director Trivikram, who were the chief guests at the event, were recommended to depart the venue due to circumstances beyond our control.
Unfamiliar with the details? Here’s a rundown: The upcoming action epic is being directed by Koratala Siva. It boasts an impressive cast including Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, among others. Mark your calendars for its release in cinemas on September 27, 2024.
