As a seasoned gamer and action movie enthusiast with a soft spot for the John Wick franchise, I must say that the new Ballerina poster has piqued my interest significantly! The combination of ballet and assassins is an intriguing concept, and Ana de Armas’ portrayal of Eve Macarro seems to be shaping up quite nicely.
Lionsgate unveiled a fresh poster for the upcoming John Wick spin-off titled Ballerina, featuring Ana de Armas in the lead role, providing a tantalizing sneak peek at the movie.
The latest poster subtly reveals some details yet highlights Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a ballet dancer turned assassin in an upcoming film. In this poster, we see a glimpse of Armas’ tattoo-covered back, featuring the phrase “Lux in Tenebris” – a Latin term that translates to “light in darkness.

What is Ballerina about?
Set within the timeframe of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the storyline centers around Eve Macarro, portrayed by Ana de Armas, as she embarks on her journey to learn the deadly art of assassination from the Ruska Roma community.
As I step into the role of Rooney, a ballerina with a heartbreaking past, previously portrayed by Unity Phelan in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, my character is on a quest for vengeance following the brutal murder of my family. This action-packed film boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, David Castañeda, and the late Lance Reddick. I can’t wait to bring this compelling story to life on the big screen!
Keanu Reeves also reprises his role as John Wick in the movie.
As a devoted admirer, let me share some interesting trivia about Len Wiseman’s directorial journey. In 2003, he directed Underworld, followed by its sequel Underworld: Evolution in 2006. He also helmed the action-packed Live Free or Die Hard in 2007 and Total Recall in 2012. The script for this movie was penned by Shay Hatten. However, it’s worth noting that Rebecca Angelo, Lauren Schuker Blum, Emerald Fennell, Michael Finch, and Wiseman himself have all contributed additional literary material, according to the Writers Guild of America. Lastly, Keanu Reeves, Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Chad Stahelski were involved in producing this movie.
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina will be released in United States theaters on June 6, 2025.
