Ballerina Digital Release Date Set for John Wick Prequel

Lionsgate has revealed that the first John Wick spin-off film, titled “Ballerina,” featuring Ana de Armas and Keanu Reeves, will hit theaters. This announcement follows approximately a month since the action-packed thriller initially premiered in cinemas.

The upcoming story in the John Wick universe introduces us to Eve Macarro, a character embarking on her training as an assassin within the Ruska Roma’s customs. Driven by the desire for vengeance over her father’s demise, she encounters none other than John Wick himself.

Starting tomorrow, July 1st, you’ll have the opportunity to either rent or purchase the Ballerina movie digitally. Meanwhile, the John Wick prequel, rated R, boasts a Certified Fresh rating of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 279 reviews.

In addition to De Armas and Reeves, the spin-off introduces mainstars Ian McShane (Winston), Anjelica Huston (The Director), and the late Lance Reddick (Charon). Alongside them are newcomers to the franchise such as Norman Reedus (Daniel Pine), Gabriel Byrne (The Chancellor), Catalina Sandino Moreno (Lena), Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Nogi), Robert Maaser (Dex), David Casteñeda (Javier), and South Korean actress Choi Sooyoung, a member of Girls’ Generation, as Katla Park.

The movie “Ballerina” was helmed by Len Wiseman, with a script penned by Shay Hatten. This spin-off production was overseen by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Keanu Reeves, and Chad Stahelski. It originated from Thunder Road Films and 87eleven.
