As a fan with a penchant for dark, twisted narratives, I must say that Bad Monkey Episode 4 has left me utterly spellbound! The intricate web of deceit, betrayal, and murder has only grown denser, and I can’t wait to see where this rollercoaster ride takes us next.
In simpler terms, Episode 4 of Bad Monkey, titled “I’ve Got No Use For It Now, Nothing’s Wrong With It,” is a look back at the events that led Yancy (played by Vince Vaughn) and Nick/Christopher (portrayed by Rob Delaney) to their present circumstances. The episode delves into Yancy’s past as a member of the Miami PD, explaining why he wound up in the Keys. It also sheds light on how Nick transitioned from an ordinary swindler to a murderer and the part Eve (acted by Meredith Hagner) played in this transformation.
Here is what happens at the end of Apple TV’s Bad Monkey Episode 4.
What happens at the end of Bad Monkey Episode 4?
Initially, Nick and Israel (often referred to as Izzy) were operating a medical insurance scheme from Midwest Medical Mobile. At this time, they encountered Eve, a struggling actress-turned-waitress who was brimming with ambition but lacked the skills needed for success in her chosen professions. Enamored by Nick, he vowed to give her the world, and she trusted him, ensuring that he followed through on his promises.
After her marriage, Eve discovers a fraudulent scheme and subsequently decides to participate in it. When investigators began scrutinizing Midwest Medical Mobile’s suspicious activities, Eve seized control and persuaded Nick to amputate his arm so that others would think he had perished at sea. The strategy nearly succeeded, but Yancy intervened in the process.
During this stretch of time, Yancy remains on duty with the Miami Police Department. His ongoing conflict with the morally questionable police officer Mendez leads him to the Keys, where he teams up with Rogelio as his partner. As the complex storyline involving Nick and Eve unfolds, it is revealed that Mendez has been promoted to detective. When an elderly woman who saw Yancy near Izzy’s home following the doctor’s demise identifies him from a photograph, she unwittingly provides Mendez with sufficient motive to view Yancy as a potential suspect.
In the series, characters Yancy and Rosa (played by Natalie Martinez) share an intimate moment, which surprisingly occurs in a morgue. This quirky setting adds a touch of humor that harmonizes with the overall tone of the show. By episode’s end, Yancy uncovers the truth about Nick being Christopher. As he prepares to inform Rosa about this revelation, Nick stealthily approaches him and knocks him unconscious instead.
Why did Nick kill Izzy and Phinney?
Eve persuades Nick to murder Phinney, asking Izzy to hide their actions afterwards. It was Izzy who operated on Nick secretly in a bathroom and gave Phinney a fake arm. When Izzy learns about Phinney’s death, he becomes emotionally distraught due to guilt and fear. As shown in the last episode, he contacts Yancy for help. However, before Yancy arrives, Nick unexpectedly shows up at Izzy’s door. Recognizing Nick’s intent, Izzy accepts his destiny and meets it calmly, as Nick shoots him dead.
Where is Heather?
In this episode, we learn that the secondary plot line involving missing meteorologist Heather was actually a murder committed by Eve. This happened because Heather had accidentally overheard Nick and Eve discussing their criminal activities. Eve felt it necessary to demonstrate to Nick that she wasn’t afraid to commit violent acts herself, and Heather’s presence offered her the ideal chance for this.
In a year filled with dragon-riding psychopaths, dark sorcerers, and super-villains, Eve stands out as one of the most chilling antagonists. She proposes to Nick that they eliminate Caitlin for the same reason they had disposed of Izzy and Phinney earlier. However, when Nick refuses to comply, she swiftly denies any malicious intent, claiming that he misunderstood her. Unfortunately, Nick’s gullibility leads him to believe her, putting both himself and Caitlin in danger.
