Who is in the Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo cast?
In this production titled “James (Pam & Tommy)”, the lead role is played by James, while also featuring Shun Oguri, who’s famously known for his role in “Godzilla v. Kong”, and the former WWE Women’s Champion Liv Morgan, whose real name is Gionna Daddio.
The storyline for “Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo” revolves around a crooked cop named Oguri, who is part of the Metropolitan Police Force and has a gambling problem. His life becomes complicated when an enigmatic FBI agent named James arrives in Tokyo to investigate the disappearance of a politician’s daughter, Morgan. Simultaneously, it appears that a twisted killer linked to the yakuza underworld is tracking their progress.
In this project, director Miike is set to work with the script penned by Daisuke Tengan. This team has previously joined forces for the films “Audition” and “13 Assassins.
In simple terms, Neon is responsible for distributing products within North America, while they will also be presenting our sales internationally at Cannes during the upcoming weeks.
Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo is a joint production between the United States and Japan, with Jeremy Thomas, Sam Pressman, Naoaki Kitajima, and Misako Saka serving as producers. Additionally, Tom Quinn, Yuzo Kuwahara, Tetsu Fujimura, Paula Paizes, Alainée Kent, Peter Watson, Ivan Kelava, Max Loeb, and Mike Apgar are listed as executive producers for this film.
According to Sam Pressman, CEO of Pressman Film, Director Miike brings a bold, fresh perspective to the character of Bad Lieutenant, a role that has traditionally been defined by its creator. Just as directors Ferrara and Herzog have delivered films that reflect their unique styles, Miike’s adaptation is relentlessly original and distinctive. Realizing this next step in the evolution of the film now in Tokyo with Director Miike, Neon, and Jeremy Thomas – a lifelong friend of Pressman’s father and a strong advocate for independent cinema – is both an honor and a fulfillment of a long-held dream for Pressman.
The film “Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo” is a remake or adaptation of an original idea by Edward R. Pressman. Abel Ferrara directed the 1992 movie “Bad Lieutenant,” featuring Harvey Keitel as the main character. Later, in 2009, Werner Herzog directed “Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans” with Nicolas Cage in the lead role.
