Bad Bunny Joins Darren Aronofsky’s Caught Stealing Cast

As a fan who has followed Bad Bunny’s meteoric rise from reggaeton sensation to Hollywood star, I must say this latest move is just another notch on his already impressive belt. The Puerto Rican artist continues to defy expectations and break barriers, making history as he becomes the first Latin trap star to join the prestigious ranks of Darren Aronofsky’s film projects.

The Puerto Rican artist and rapper known as Bad Bunny has become the newest celebrity cast in Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming film titled “Stealing Caught.”

According to Charlie Huston’s novel with the same title, the upcoming crime thriller is centered around the character Hank Thompson, a once-prominent baseball player who has fallen on hard times. Unexpectedly thrust into a dangerous struggle for survival in the criminal underworld of ’90s New York City, Hank finds himself entangled in a wild and unpredictable fight for his life.

In the upcoming movie adaption by Sony Pictures, the same writer who penned the book will craft the script for “Caught Stealing“. However, as of now, it remains unclear which actor portraying Bad Bunny has been cast to play the character in this film.

Who else is in the Caught Stealing cast?

Alongside a Grammy Award-winning artist, the cast for Caught Stealing includes Austin Butler, known for Masters of the Air, Zoë Kravitz from Mad Max: Fury Road, Regina King who was recently in The Harder They Fall, Matt Smith recognized for House of the Dragon, Liev Schreiber famed for Ray Donovan, and Will Brill, a star from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

In the upcoming lineup, Caught Stealing will be Bad Bunny’s next venture with Sony Pictures, coming after his appearance in David Leitch’s Bullet Train, where he shared screen time with stars such as Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Logan Lerman, and others.

The renowned artist, fresh from completing his Most Wanted Tour, has now ventured into acting with Narcos: Mexico, portraying Arturo “Kitty” Paez. Additionally, he has acted in F9 as Lookout and Cassandro as Felipe. Moreover, he will take on the role of executive producer for Netflix’s forthcoming adaptation of Adam Silvera’s Puerto Rican novel They Both Die at the End.

Meanwhile, “Caught Stealing” marks the director’s chair return for Darren Aronofsky, following the 2022 award-winning film “The Whale,” starring Brendan Fraser. Known for films like “Pi,” “Requiem for a Dream,” “The Fountain,” “The Wrestler,” “Black Swan,” “Mother!” and “Noah,” Aronofsky is the filmmaker at hand.

As an enthusiastic admirer, I can’t wait to see the cinematic masterpiece that my favorite director and his partner from Protozoa Pictures, Ari Handel, will create together. Unfortunately, as of now, there’s no fixed date for the release of “Caught Stealing”.
