As a long-time fan of both Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx, I was thrilled to hear about their upcoming movie “Back in Action” set for release on Netflix. The news of its delay from November 15, 2024, to January 17, 2024, initially felt like a bitter pill to swallow. However, as someone who has waited years for new projects from these two talented actors, I guess two more weeks isn’t too much to ask!

In November 2024, Netflix will premiere the upcoming movie titled “Back in Action,” starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx.

When is the new release date for Back in Action?

According to reports from Netflix’s Tudum, the film “Back in Action” is set to debut for streaming on Netflix starting January 17, 2024. The reason behind the delay of around two months remains unclear.

“After leaving behind their CIA spy lives to raise a family, Emily and Matt are unwillingly pulled back into the realm of covert operations as their identities are exposed.” (The logline for the movie.)

The movie is helmed by Seth Gordon, a director known for producing films like Four Christmases (2008), Horrible Bosses (2011), Identity Thief (2013), and Baywatch (2017). Additionally, he has directed numerous episodes of popular television series such as Community, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Modern Family, The Goldbergs, Atypical, The Good Doctor, The Night Agent, among others.

Together with Brendan O’Brien, Gordon penned the screenplay for this film. Starring alongside Foxx and Diaz are Kyle Chandler, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts, and Rylan Jackson in the movie.
