Ayden Heaven Suffers Foot Injury in Manchester United vs. City

Curious about Ayden Heaven’s injury during Manchester United’s win over Leicester City? The teenage defender was stretchered off in the second half after a painful clash with Patson Daka. His full Premier League debut was cut short, leaving fans and teammates concerned about the extent of his injury.

Here’s what manager Ruben Amorim and other insiders have said about Heaven’s condition, his recovery timeline, and what it means for United’s already injury-hit squad.

What happened to Ayden Heaven?

Ayden Heaven, an 18-year-old Manchester United defender, suffered an injury during his full Premier League debut in United’s 3-0 win against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. He went down in pain after a tussle with Leicester striker Patson Daka and was stretchered off following a five-minute delay. Sky Sports cameras chose not to show a replay of the incident.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim provided an update on Heaven’s condition, stating, “We will see next week. It’s hard to understand because even when he’s on the ground, he can’t speak. He doesn’t know how to explain what he’s feeling because he’s so young. It’s hard to understand what he’s feeling” (via Optus Sports). Heaven exited the stadium wearing a protective boot but walked without crutches and did not need hospital treatment.

Heaven had joined United from Arsenal in February after the clubs agreed on a compensation package. Before his transfer, he made one senior appearance for Arsenal in a League Cup match against Preston North End. Former Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney praised his early performances, saying, “He looks calm, he’s composed, he gives them good balance with his left foot, he looks quick, and he looks like he likes defending. I think he is a real coup for Manchester United.”

Manchester United are facing several defensive injuries, as Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, and Jonny Evans are all currently out of action. In a recent match at King Power Stadium, Axel Tuanzebe hobbled off the pitch in a protective boot but was able to walk without crutches from the dressing room to Manchester United’s bus.

Amorim will assess Heaven’s condition further after the international break before United’s next game against Nottingham Forest on April 1.
