How To Break Down Gear In Avowed
To dismantle an item in the game, confirmed players need to access their character’s Inventory, find an unequipped piece of equipment, and choose it. Only weapons and armor can be dismantled for crafting components; other gear types such as boots, gloves, accessories, rings, trinkets, and all similar items cannot be broken down for materials.
As you’ve selected the device (highlighted), glance at the lower-right part of the screen to locate your Break Down input.

Any equipment that has undergone at least one update will yield an Herb Material, a versatile item essential for various upgrades of gear. However, if your equipment belongs to a superior tier but remains unupgraded (at +0 level), it won’t produce a herb when dismantled.
