Avengers: Doomsday Filming Led Marvel to Pay Millions to Royal Family

It’s been said that Marvel Studios allegedly shelled out substantial amounts for the cooperation of the British Monarchy during the filming of Avengers: Doomsday. This upcoming movie is being made and is slated for a December 2026 release. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, it brings Robert Downey Jr. back to Marvel, but this time he’ll be portraying the antagonist, Doctor Doom.

Why Marvel paid Millions to British Royal Family for Avengers: Doomsday

It appears that Marvel Studios is said to have given a substantial sum of money to the British Royal Family, allowing them to film Avengers: Doomsday within Windsor Great Park. As per The Irish Sun’s report, an insider mentioned that King Charles himself has been informed about the planned changes the studio will make in the park for the movie production.

Furthermore, it’s reported that the studio is obligated to contribute money towards maintaining Windsor Great Park, which is owned by the Royal Family. The source explained, “For Marvel, several million pounds is virtually insignificant compared to their films’ earnings in billions. However, this money will be used for the park upkeep, which naturally piques the King’s interest. In addition, some of the income from the Crown Estates goes to the Royal Family, making this a beneficial arrangement for all parties involved.

There’s a possibility that the Royal Family might drop by to witness Thor at work in the park as well.

According to additional details from our source, approximately 300 individuals including crew and cast will be present at the park during the filming over summer. At this time, it’s unclear which specific scenes will be filmed on site, though there are rumors that one of the sets could be Luke Cage’s house.

As of now, neither Marvel Studios nor the British Royal Family have confirmed the report.
