The Russo Brothers, who go by Joe and Anthony Russo, have devised strategies to keep secrets about the casting and storyline of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from being revealed prematurely.
In 2026, Marvel Studios plans to release Avengers: Doomsday. Following this, approximately a year later, we can expect Avengers: Secret Wars. These two movies are being helmed by the Russo Brothers, a fact that was shared at San Diego Comic-Con last year.
As the filming for Avengers: Doomsday is set to commence in the upcoming month, the directors, the Russos, have announced their intention to implement additional security precautions to prevent any sensitive details about the movie from being leaked on the internet.
What did the Russo Brothers say about Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars leaks?
In conversation with Collider, Joe affirmed that they indeed have a strategy in place and are generally effective at preventing photographers from capturing images of the film’s production site.
Anthony added, “We’ve sort of strategized to hopefully be effective with that.”
Joe also mentioned that a large portion of the filming for Avengers: Doomsday will take place on soundstages, this is done intentionally to minimize the chances of photos being taken.
He clarified that they’re being very cautious about not allowing photos, and Joe added that when choosing other locations for filming, they take this into consideration as well.
On May 2, 2026, the Avengers: Doomsday film will hit theaters across the United States. Details about the storyline for this upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe production are scarce at the moment, but we do know that Robert Downey Jr. will portray Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom. Additionally, it is anticipated that Ebon Moss’Bachrach (as Ben Grimm), Pedro Pascal (as Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (as Sue Storm), and Joseph Quinn (as Human Torch) from The Fantastic Four: First Steps will make appearances, along with Anthony Mackie’s character Sam Wilson/Captain America.
On May 7, 2024, the next Marvel saga, “Avengers: Secret Wars,” is set to premiere. Somewhere in between these epic events, scheduled for July 31, 2026, we can expect the fourth Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland.
