The production of “Avengers: Doomsday” has officially started, featuring Robert Downey Jr as Victor Von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom. This movie is set to release on May 1, 2026. Previously, directors Joe and Anthony Russo were responsible for the two highest-grossing Avengers films so far, “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Endgame.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo recently announced the start of filming for Avengers: Doomsday.
The filmmaking team shared a photo featuring a chair labeled “Victor Von Doom,” accompanied by the caption “Day one…”. It’s been announced that Robert Downey Jr. will be reprising the role of the villain, Doctor Victor Von Doom, in the movie “Doomsday”. This marks his second collaboration with Marvel Studios following his portrayal of Iron Man throughout the Infinity Saga.

Following the latest press conference held by Marvel Studios’ head, Kevin Feige, on Sunday, it has been officially confirmed that production for the film “Doomsday” will begin.
As stated in a report from Comic Book Resources, Feige explained that the appeal of Avengers films lies in the unique interactions between actors who have not worked together before. He enjoys seeing these characters interact in ways they’ve never done before on screen. Some cast members for Thunderbolts have experienced this to some extent already, and filming for Avengers: Doomsday officially begins on Monday. This is what’s coming up next for them, and Feige finds it incredibly exciting as production starts on day one.
In Avengers: Doomsday, an exciting gathering of talents from the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expected, including Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, Lewis Pullman, Robert Downey Jr., Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Tom Hiddleston, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Letitia Wright, Simu Liu, and many others.
The movie will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars, which is expected to be released in May 2027.
