At CinemaCon, Halle Berry recently held a chat with Black Girl Nerds. The discussion kicked off with Berry talking about her upcoming film with Chris Hemsworth titled Crime 101. Furthermore, she provided some insights on the speculation surrounding her role in Avengers: Doomsday as Storm.
The reporter from Black Girl Nerds communicated to the actress that fans are anticipating her appearance in the next announcement of Avengers: Doomsday since Storm wasn’t present, and she expressed her hope to see the actress’ name on the list. However, the X-Men star replied, “You’ll have to keep waiting. My name won’t be there.
Doomsday, as mentioned in their report released a few days after the initial cast announcement.
Yet, her recent statement has disheartened fans who had hoped for a reunion with their favorite X-Men co-stars. Nevertheless, there’s speculation that Berry might be planning a comeback, much like Marvel Cinematic Universe stars Andrew Garfield and Tatiana Maslany have done in the past. Moreover, at CinemaCon 2025, Kevin Feige hinted that the cast for Avengers: Doomsday is not yet fully assembled, suggesting that more actors may still be announced.
The buzz about Halle Berry potentially reprising her role as Storm began prior to the July 2024 release of Deadpool & Wolverine. Nevertheless, she didn’t take on the role in the film. During an interview with ComicBook.com in August 2024, Berry disclosed that Blake Lively once asked her about appearing as Storm in a movie produced by her husband, but he never extended the offer to her.
