Tom Hiddleston’s exclusive Loki reveal for Avengers: Doomsday
During a chat on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tom Hiddleston disclosed that Loki still serves as the protector of time-lines within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). When Kimmel enquired about Loki’s role post the finale of Season 2, Hiddleston responded affirmatively, hinting that his character continues to maintain control over all the timelines in the multiverse.
Inquired about Loki’s role in Avengers: Doomsday, Hiddleston replied, “I will indeed be present,” signifying his participation in the movie. However, he chose not to disclose more information due to Marvel’s stringent confidentiality regulations. “We’re always doing this dance,” he remarked, alluding to the customary secrecy that shrouds Marvel Cinematic Universe productions.
Tom Hiddleston shared how he discovered he was part of the cast. In reference to Marvel’s secretive production strategies, he admitted, “I didn’t know. I just thought, ‘Oh, it seems I’m in the film,'” upon spotting his name on a chair’s backrest among others. He further clarified, ” technically, I did know I was in the movie,” but often keeps quiet until given the green light to discuss such matters.
At the finale of Loki Season 2, Loki assumed dominion over the timelines. The series concluded with him relinquishing his personal liberty for the sake of ensuring peace across the multiverse. It’s expected that his involvement in Doomsday will build upon this starting point, positioning him as a key player in the upcoming multiversal clash.
On December 18, 2026, Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters. This movie will see the return of several Marvel Cinematic Universe stars like Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, and Anthony Mackie. Moreover, it brings in actors from the X-Men universe, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and James Marsden.
