Zoe Saldaña talks joining James Gunn’s DC universe

During a chat at an event promoting her upcoming project, Elio, Zoe Saldana shared insights on potentially being part of the DC Universe. Unfortunately, she disclosed that she hasn’t had any discussions about this with director James Gunn yet.

In the interview, Crossan pointed out that Gunn has expressed his desire to include Saldana in the DC lineup and even considered a part for her. The interviewer then queried if Saldana and Gunn had discussed this possibility, to which Saldana replied negatively by saying “No.

Despite some reservations, Saldaña did show enthusiasm for the upcoming Superman film, marking Gunn’s debut in the revamped DCU. She remarked, “I can hardly wait for Superman! We all seem to be on tenterhooks. He has so much talent, and I believe he will infuse this timeless story with a lot of emotion, but also plenty of wit and humor.

To date, only one actor from the Guardians trilogy has moved on to DC after Gunn took over control. Sean Gunn, who played Kraglin in the Guardians films, previously voiced Weasel in 2021’s The Suicide Squad for the old DCEU and will now assume the roles of Maxwell Lord and G.I. Robot in the revamped DC superhero series.
