Avatar: The Last Airbender Movie Gets Official Title

The official title for the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender movie has been revealed.

At this year’s CinemaCon event, Ramsey Ann Naito, president of both Nickelodeon and Paramount Animation, revealed the definitive title for the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender movie adaptation. Originally known as Aang: The Last Airbender, the film will be inspired by the beloved Nickelodeon animated television series.

What will the new Avatar: The Last Airbender movie be called?

It was disclosed that Paramount won’t unveil any clips from their upcoming film but has titled it “The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender“. Changing the title might have been a smart move since, if they hadn’t, the movie would share a name with James Cameron’s Avatar trilogy’s third part.

In this animated film titled “The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender,” the narrative will focus on Aang’s years as a young adult. Star-studded cast members include Dave Bautista, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, and South Korean singer-songwriter Eric Nam who lends his voice to the title role of the last surviving Airbender. Furthermore, it was recently confirmed that Steven Yeun from “Invincible” has joined the cast as a character in the upcoming movie.

In the upcoming movie, we find ourselves several years past the events seen in the animated series “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” which was aired on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008, consisting of three seasons. Following this, another sequel titled “The Legend of Korra” ran from 2012 to 2014. Last year saw the live-action adaptation of “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” featuring Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, and others in its cast.

Further information regarding the release of “The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender” is being kept secret, however, it is anticipated that the movie will premiere in cinemas on January 30, 2026.
