However, she continues to display her trademark incompetence as a school principal.
In Abbott Elementary’s Season 4, Episode 18, we find out about Ava’s situation and the reason behind her termination.
What happens to Ava in Abbott Elementary Season 4, Episode 18, and why does she get let go? Let me fill you in.
Why was Ava fired in Abbott Elementary Season 4 Episode 18?
In season 4, episode 18, I found myself out of a job as the principal at Abbott Elementary. The reason? I made the regrettable decision to accept bribes from golf course developers, a choice I deeply regret.
Teachers, including Ava, took bribes in an attempt to resolve a significant issue at the school: insufficient resources. As a result, Ava gained a luxury perk – a walk-in closet was set up in her office from the bribes.
In Season 4’s Episode 18, titled “Audit,” things took a turn for the worse. Ava confessed her acceptance of bribes to Principal Crystal, her rival sorority sister, during their visit to the school. Crystal was taken aback when she found out that the school didn’t receive essential supplies from the district.
Manny, a previous coworker of Janine from the same district, cautioned Ava that someone from the district would soon visit the school for an inspection and to guarantee no corrupt practices like accepting bribes were happening.
After receiving bribes from the inspectors, Ava and the teachers hurriedly concealed all the ill-gotten items. They managed to do so successfully as the inspectors, upon arrival, found nothing and were preparing to depart. However, just when it seemed they would go undetected, a lawyer representing the golf course developers appeared. The lawyer announced that he had brought additional bribes. With this clear evidence, the inspectors demanded to identify the individual who accepted these bribes.
As someone deeply invested in my team at Abbott Elementary, I felt compelled to shield them from any trouble. Over time, I grew to care for each member, and when faced with a situation that could potentially harm them, I stepped up and took the fall, accepting full accountability. Unfortunately, this decision led to my termination as principal.
At first, I thought being the principal would provide me with more job security than the teachers. However, I was informed by the inspectors that letting a principal go is surprisingly straightforward. Yet, despite losing my position, I remain undeterred and ready for whatever comes next.
