What happens in the Caught Stealing trailer?
In the video, Butler’s primary character is tasked with looking after his neighbor’s feline friend while the owner is away. Yet, what starts as a routine cat-sitting job escalates into a harrowing ordeal when he unwittingly becomes embroiled in a violent conflict between various New York City street gangs. The diverse cast boasts talents such as Regina King, Zoë Kravitz, Matt Smith, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Griffin Dunne, Benito A Martínez Ocasio, and Carol Kane.
As an enthusiast, I’d like to share that this movie is my personal favorite, masterfully directed and produced by the talented Darren Aronofsky. The screenplay, a brilliant adaptation, was penned by Charlie Huston, inspired by his 2004 novel of the same title. The production team includes Ari Handel, Jeremy Dawson, and Dylan Golden, with Charlie Huston and Ann Ruark serving in executive producer roles.
Hank Thompson, once a renowned high school baseball player and now a bartender at a New York dive, is living a relatively stable life with his girlfriend. However, his tranquility is disrupted when his punk-rock neighbor Russ asks him to look after his cat for a while. Unbeknownst to Hank, this simple request plunges him into the midst of a group of menacing gangsters who are chasing him, each wanting a piece of him. The puzzle is that he doesn’t know why they’re after him. As Hank navigates their relentless pursuit, he must rely on his street smarts to stay alive until he uncovers the reason behind it all.
