Game developer and distributor Rebellion proudly revealed that their post-apocalyptic shooter game, Atomfall, has surpassed a significant number of players, causing quite a celebration within the studio. To mark this special occasion, they have also shared some exciting facts about the game.
According to a press statement, the gaming title “Atomfall” has surpassed one million active players, with a total of approximately 1.5 million individuals having given the game a try. It’s important to mention that, similar to the recent achievement by “Death Stranding”, this figure includes those who have played the game through subscription services in addition to traditional sales.
Based on Rebellion’s measurements, they have declared that Atomfall marks the most triumphant launch in their 32-year lifespan, indicating undeniably that the game has achieved remarkable success according to their standards.
Apart from the latest milestone for the new player in Atomfall, Rebellion has also disclosed other statistics about the game’s playstyle. Interestingly, some entertaining yet somewhat concerning tendencies are surfacing as a result of their analysis.
Instead, Rebellion claims that over 316,000 players “eliminated the scientist right at the start of the game,” indicating a swift and brutal introduction to violence.
In this game, over 3.7 million enemy kills have been made using what feels distinctly British – a cricket bat. After these victories, players celebrated by consuming approximately 4 million pasties (a traditional pie-like pastry dish) and drinking about 300,000 cups of tea. Cheerio!
Should you be unfamiliar with “Atomfall”, it represents a post-apocalyptic survival shooter, often likened to games such as “Fallout” and “Stalker”.
The game is set in an altered scenario of the Windscale nuclear incident, a historical event that occurred in Britain during the 1950s. In this version, a restricted area has been established to manage the crisis, and it’s teeming with unusual characters, missions to accomplish, and adversaries to conquer.
Currently, “Atomfall” is accessible on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. Additionally, if you’re a Game Pass subscriber, whether it be Ultimate or for PC, then you have access to this game. For those interested in learning more about the game, I recommend checking out Erren’s review here.
